Microsoft is finally bringing start menu in its next version of desktop operating system, Windows 9. It is a kind of hybrid start menu where features are taken from Windows 7 and Windows 8. It was certainly a much needed feature which I was waiting for since Windows 8 came. New start menu have features like miniature live tiles and has same size as that of Windows 7 start menu.
New Start menu update is part of Windows 9 operating system. Microsoft is going to release a major Windows 8.1 update later this month but this new feature is not a part of that. A major Windows 9 update will be released later this year and this new Start menu will be part of that.
