You must have noticed while typing a mail or searching something on Google that, if you go wrong with spelling of a word, Google immediately warns you by putting a red line beneath that word. This is because Google recognized that word as wrongly spelled by referencing its own dictionary where it maintains database of all english word. It updates it regularly to add or sometimes remove words that don't come in use now. But do you know that you can create your own dictionary in Google, where you can store your own words and once done Google will never warn you again for wrong spellings. Learn how to do this with an easy example shown below.

  • Verify that before starting you have logged in your browser with your Google email.
Suppose you are writing a mail to you friend and you often use words with little twist to make conversation more interesting. But whenever you type the word Google word suggestion puts a red underline beneath it to make you aware about wrong spelling. I often feel it very annoying, and hence I have added some words in my own dictionary in Google.

Let us start with the procedure to make Google learn new words, even wrongly spelled words

1. While typing on your browser, type the word you want to add to Google dictionary. In the example below, I typed "Hello" as "heeelooo". Also note that In starting Google also warns me for my name, but once added to Google dictionary, it has never warned me since then.

2. Now suppose we want "heeelooo" to be added. For that right click on the word and click on "Add to Dictionary".

3. To review all your custom words that you have added to your dictionary, go to settings (on Google chrome only) ---> Go to Language and input settings (in advanced settings) and click on the button (Language and Input settings). See the image below for more help.

4. Upon clicking another popup windows opens, where you can add your languages to Google chrome and set any language as default language. Google chrome will then loads every page in your default language. You can drag then to set priority of different languages.
At the bottom of that windows, click on the "Custom spelling dictionary" to manage your already added custom words. As shown in the example, i have added my name, Kanwaljeet, to it so it will be shown there along with other custom words.

You can anytime remove any of the custom words which you want browser to forget about.

You can take these words with you anywhere. I mean your Google email ID is now associated with your custom dictionary. If you shift to another system, you can still access these by simply logging into the browser with your Google email id your used before.
