Malware is a malicious software that is designed to penetrate into a computer system or get access to a computer and restricting the computer's normal operation without owner's permission. Malware can be in the form of a viruses,trojan horse,worms ,rootkits and spywares and most of the malwares are designed to steal your confidential informaton from your computer.They can intrude into unprotected computers in the form of e-mail attachments.Here are some of the forms of malwares that you need to know and tips to get protected from such malwares.

  • Virus is a kind of program that attach itself to a file or a software without your knowledge and thus stop the proper functioning of the softwares or computer programmes.It gets hide into system and replicate itself and cause destruction by restricting normal operation of programs.
  • Spyware is a malicious software that gets hide into your system and track your most of the activities and sends them on remote server.Keylogger is one kind of spyware that may gets installed whenever you visit a unsecure or untrusted website and store your keystrokes ,screenshots etc. 
  • Trojan is a kind of malware that doesn't replicate itself but gets backdoor access to computer system and gain remote access and perform undesirable operation.
  • Worm replicate itself as much as possible , it actually use your computer RAM and makes your computer slow as it leaves a very less working memory (RAM) for your computer.It cause some harm to the network and doesn't cause any destruction to files.
Tips to get protected:
  • Secure your computer by installing updated antivirus.
  • Enable your window firewall and set recommended settings.
  • Never use pirated CDs and DVDs that may contain viruses and harm your computer.
  • Always scan a file before using or sharing it.
  • Download and install the best site advisor that open page from trusted websites only or set the browser to open webpages from trusted sites.
  • Check file extensions and avoid downloading files with double extensions and scan before you download.
  • Always scan removable media you are trying to open.
  • Open attachments from known users otherwise delete them.
