Sometimes ads placed above mails and on right sidebar in gmail cause a distraction as you don't want their presence when you are looking up for important mails.Introduction of google's new tab interface bring all ads under promotional tab but some of these ads seems to be lagitimate that can even trap you in phishing.Here are a few simple setting steps that can turn them off or you can get rid of them.
Steps to follow:
- Click on top right of email page and then select 'Configure Inbox'.
- Deselect promotional tab checkbox.
- Click on save the changes you have made.
Now you are done with the settings and promotional tab will not be visible and similar way , you can also uncheck other tabs except 'Primary' tab.
