windows 8.1
After windows 8 and 8.1 , Microsoft is planning to release windows 9 instead of releasing windows 8.2. Most of us were also thinking that next window would most likely be windows 8.2 . Microsoft plans to provide a update to windows 8.1 ie update 1 or (GDR1 internally) and windows Phone 8.1, there would not be a major update for next 15 months as microsoft is thinking to release windows 9 in april next year.

Windows Phone 9 is also expected to be a part of windows 9 threshold release next year.

Windows 8 had enough features to please windows users as it gives a new look of start menu but it also has some of its flaws that users felt like lack of start button. Microsoft tried to cutoff the features losses incurred in windows 8 and now plans to release a new version windows 9.
One of the biggest mistake that Microsoft did that it provide a single OS that runs on every type of devices which doesn't suit to every type of devices and in contrast to it Apple has a dedicated software for desktop ,laptop ,tablets and phones and it is working very well. Microsoft may further think over that for its coming versions of windows.

Expected windows 9 features

  • In upcoming version it is expected that we can see a desktop version of windows and providing a root to desktop computers.
  • Second version could focus on start interface and touch apps.
  • Third version could do something for ARM based devices like tablets etc.
Windows desktop version would be exciting to see as there would be surprising how start interface looks and more often Microsoft would try to provide what windows 8 has taken away like start proper start button with launching applications without moving on to screen only. It seems that microsoft is working more toward users experience and Windows 9 would try to provide a reasonable update from all previous windows.
