Apple called it Touch ID sensor that senses your finger’s impression and makes a match of the finger print with one it has in its database. Now this is something very fresh and unique that we are watching in Smartphone technology. There is no need to remember password and codes for unlocking your iPhone 5S. You just need to have your finger with you, and certainly we can never forget it and never misplace it. Now the total experience with the new iPhone 5S is very personal right from the lock screen to your apps.
What makes iPhone 5S so special
High rumors were going through before the actual launch that would Apple bring fingerprint sensor to iPhone or it is just another fake news. But yesterday they did it. The new iPhone 5S is made truly for you. Touch ID sensor is carved perfectly into the flagship smartphone from Apple. Getting more closer to the new Touch Identification sensor, Apple made it using 4 different layers – SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL, METAL RING, CAPACITIVE SINGLE TOUCH SENSOR and TACTILE SWITCH. It is the sapphire crystal that actually records your fingerprint. It then directs the recorder print to the capacitive touch sensor below this layer. Metal ring improves the signal to noise ration of the fingerprint signal by sensing the edges of your fingers and exact time when you touched the home button. Metal rings also do the work of waking up the touch ID sensor upon your touch on the home button. Isn’t it very advanced. Although fingerprint sensing technology is not new, but making it work in a 7.6 mm thicker device is not so easy. Also its weight is also kept very low to give you every bit of comfort while using your iPhone.
Faster CPU and GPU for performance like never before
New CPU is 40 times faster than the original iPhone from Apple. The new A7 chip is designed to give best possible efficiency with similarly improved battery life. Performance can never be compromised with battery life. This new processor along with the new GPU (Co-Processor chip) M7, the graphics will look more real alike.
A7 chip is designed on the 64-bit architecture which is first of its kind in the smartphone technology world. Apple said that they have incorporated Desktop-class processing power to their new iPhone with this new processor chip. Along with these, a new Image processor chip is used for better visuals and animations. It also supports OPEN GL ES3.0 which is again used for improving visual effects and provide console level graphics on the iPhone 5S.
The new M7 chip is used to offload the work from main processor, A7. It collects data from different sensors and maintains it. Whenever any game or app that require this data, they collect it from M7 chip, instead of A7 thus making A7 to do lesser work. Again it makes iPhone 5S more energy efficient.
