Tablets replacing 50% of PCs in 2014, Out of which Android got 65%, Apple got 30% and Windows Tablets with just 5% share

2014 is definitely going to be the year of tablets-small, handy, portable computers which are slowly and secretly replacing our need of personal computers. Statistics make it further more clear by showing that 50% of PC market will be captured by tablets (no matter which OS they run) out of which alone Android based tablets have 65% of total tablet market share, where it is distributed to many manufacturers across the globe. Apple at the next position scored 30% market share and Windows tablets at third position with 5% market share. Can you feel the heat - by 2017 total units of tablets shipped will almost double to 396 million as compared to 185 million units shipped in 2014.

Samsung leading the Android 
In the mighty 60% market share of Android in the tablet sector, Samsung alone stood at the peak of all other tablet manufacturers. Samsung's Galaxy tablet series is highly promoted by the company and it has really captured the attention of major market. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1-2014 edition is the company's latest tablet.

Apple alone but still got maximum profit
You must have used an iOS tablet and know that it is unique and delivers the best experience for tablet users. Apple manufactures, sell and maintain all the iPads across the world in each and every country. There is no competition at all in terms of tablets having similar operating platform. That is why Apple has earned maximum profit percent when it comes to profit through tablets alone.


Apple premium products are built to attract high value customers and seriously they are doing it very well. iPads, iPhones or iPods all are feature loaded, premium gadgets out of which iPads made the largest profit for Apple in last few years. Both these tablets have helped Apple in gaining strength and come up to show better results in Q4. Android just because of its multiple price points and huge manufacturers adopting it is at the top. You can get an Android tablet just starting from 5k-6k but getting an Apple requires 3-4 times this amount. Note one thing, Samsung overtook Apple in the tablets market just because it prices its tablets at much lower cost and has more number of options available to choose from. Windows tablets have started just now and they should get fair chance before being judged. But still they will  manage to reach 5% of market share and come at the third position after Android and iOS. Nokia-Microsoft deal will further help Microsoft to get ahead in the race of tablets and become a good competition for other two platforms.
