iPad mini from Apple launched a year ago was a big success that almost took Apple to the top of mid-sized tablet segment. Why I said "almost"? No doubt iPad mini was a digital masterpiece device with minimalistic design, thinnest bezels ever on any iPad and with lightning port to make it compatible with your busy schedule. One biggest fall was its too low screen resolution, making it just 168 ppi (pixels per inch) display that disappointed most of us.
Now Apple has plans to launch iPad mini with retina display by the end of 2013. Some other devices from Apple are also in the waiting list waiting for their turn to launch before the end of 2013, like 'iPhone 5S' and if correctly named 'iPhone 5C', a low cost iPhone.
Currently the iPad mini has screen resolution of just 1024-by-768 pixels, making it just 163 ppi for a 7.9 inch IPS technology display. In comparison to its major High Definition rivals like Nexus 7, Nexus 7 (2013) and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, the iPad mini was least resolved but neatly designed.
In addition to the new iPad mini, Apple has plans
to roll out the new iPad, the follower of the iPad 4G. According to the news, it is expected to have thinner bezels like the iPad mini and a overall thinner display making it a lightweight tablet in the segment of bigger display tablets. Read more about on how your next iPad may look alike.
With two big launches before the end of 2013, Apple certainly want to boost its sales to set another record. With a record already set this year, Apple will definitely do its best to gain back the market share in smartphone and tablet segment.
